Past life regression therapy is a therapeutic approach that aims to help you explore and gain insights into your past lives through guided hypnosis. It is based on the belief in reincarnation, which suggests that the soul or consciousness undergoes multiple lifetimes, experiencing various physical bodies and situations over time.

During a past life regression therapy session, you’ll be guided into a deep state of relaxation, similar to the process used in other forms of hypnotherapy. While in this hypnotic trance, you’ll be taken on a journey to access memories from previous lifetimes, which can help you in healing trauma, anxiety, fears phobias, as well as connect the dots to people and places that feel familiar but with no conscious memory of the connection in this lifetime and can even give context to particular disease or ailments you may be experiencing.

After completing my Clinical Hypnotherapy and Strategic Psychotherapy diploma in 2019, I knew I wanted to deepen my understanding of the subconscious mind. What fascinated me most was not just how the mind stores memory and belief, but how it holds layers far beyond this lifetime. I’ve always been drawn to the mystical, the esoteric, and the unseen, and past life regression felt like the perfect bridge between science and spirit. It offered a way to explore consciousness with depth, reverence, and integrity, while remaining grounded in therapeutic safety. For me, it wasn’t about curiosity alone, it was about remembrance. In 2023 I became qualified as  a Past Life Regression Therapist under Marie Benton of Hypnotherapy in Brisbane. Marie studied and was trained through the Michael Newton Institute. 

My love for past life regression comes from witnessing how profoundly it supports self-mastery. When we understand where certain patterns, fears, soul contracts, or gifts originate, we naturally loosen their grip. Clients often experience a deep sense of relief, clarity, and self-compassion, as if something long held in the body and psyche finally has permission to be seen and released. This work gently dissolves unconscious loops and brings people back into greater choice, sovereignty, and inner authority.

Spiritually, I see past life regression as a sacred remembering of the soul’s journey. It reconnects people with their higher self, their wisdom beyond the mind, and the deeper intelligence guiding their life. Whether a client accesses a literal past life or receives symbolic, emotional, or energetic insight, the experience always serves the same purpose, to bring understanding, healing, and integration into the present moment.

This work weaves beautifully into the path of self-mastery because it invites you to know yourself at a soul level, not just through personality or conditioning. It supports liberation from old imprints, strengthens intuition, and helps you live with greater coherence, purpose, and trust in yourself. What’s involved in a Past Life Regression Therapy Session?

Before your session:

Once you’ve booked in you will receive an email with a link to fill out a form which needs to be returned no less than 4 days before your session. You’ll also be sent a link to listen to a meditation which is best to be listened to for 3 consecutive days leading up to your past life regression therapy session. You can choose either a beach theme or rainforest theme meditation. This is to get you used to my voice and in a familiar setting within your mind that you’ll go into as part of your hypnosis induction. You’re welcome to email me prior to your session with any questions you may have.

On the day:

On the day of your session it is recommended to have a light meal a few hours prior, and avoid stimulants like coffee. Wear something comfortable - layers are great to so you can easily peel off if you feel warm or add more layers if you’re cold. You’ll be in a recliner and have a blanket and pillows supplied.

When you arrive you’ll have the chance to get settled in and start to relax. It really is a journey that we go on, and it’s very normal to experience perhaps some nerves or uncertainty. You’ll be given the option to use the bathroom before we start, and don’t worry if you need to go again during our session, it’s perfectly ok to stop and start the journey from where we left off.

We allow 3 hours for the experience and it’s recommended to have a clear schedule for the rest of the day to allow the integration process to start. You may like to spend some time in nature or put your feet in the ocean to help you ground back in, and journaling is always a wonderful way to write down what you experienced so you can reflect on it at a later time.

After your Past Life Regression:

As part of your Past Life Regression therapy you have the option to purchase 2x 1hr coaching sessions to support your integration to use in the weeks following. It’s likely you’ll have things arise in your session that you were not expecting - perhaps its clarity on your life’s purpose, a deeper connection with yourself, a new understanding of life or the healing journey has begun for past trauma or root causes of pain. Whatever it is, the integration sessions will give you an opportunity to map out how you want this new understanding or way of being to be part of your life moving forward, and how you can best continue on this path that has been carved out for you.

What if I can’t be hypnotised or if I don’t go into trace?

Firstly, this is completely normal. Hypnosis is not something that happens to you, it is a natural state you allow yourself into. You move in and out of trance every day when you daydream, get absorbed in a book, drive on autopilot, or drift just before sleep. Some people drop into this state quickly, others gently hover at the edges, especially in their first session. Both are perfect.

There are many reasons someone may feel they didn’t “go deep enough” the first time. Being new to the experience, overthinking, wanting to do it “right,” feeling nervous, having a very analytical mind, or being highly self-aware can all create resistance. Sometimes the conscious mind simply needs time to feel safe. None of this means hypnosis isn’t working. In fact, many people are far more receptive than they realise.

If you don’t enter a deep trance or access a past life in the way you expected, you will still be fully supported. You will be guided through a deeply relaxing meditation designed to connect you with your higher self, inner wisdom, and subconscious mind. From this space, you can still receive insights, sensations, emotions, memories, symbols, or messages that are exactly what your system is ready for. The experience always meets you where you are, and often gives you what you need rather than what you think should happen.

What if I have aphantasia?
Aphantasia simply means you don’t see images in your mind’s eye. This does not prevent you from experiencing hypnosis or past life regression. Hypnosis is not dependent on visual imagery alone. Some people experience memories and information through feelings, bodily sensations, emotions, words, knowing, or subtle impressions. Others receive insights as thoughts, concepts, or sudden clarity rather than pictures.

Your subconscious speaks in many languages, not just images. Sessions are gently adapted to work with how you naturally process information, so you are never expected to visualise if that is not how your mind works. Many people with aphantasia still have profound, meaningful, and transformative experiences.

Ultimately, there is no right or wrong way to experience this work. Trust that whatever unfolds is guided, intelligent, and purposeful. Your subconscious knows exactly how to communicate with you.
